RESOLUTION NO. 7347-98 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Flannery, George, <br />Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION commending Lynda Sackett for her leadership in <br />coordinating the Arabic Cultural Arts Day at Emerson Middle School. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lynda Sackett from the Beck Center for Cultural Arts, <br />organized a comprehensive program for middle school children to recognize and <br />experience the cultural contributions of the Middle East, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through the poetry of Gibran, folk stories such as "Sackcloth", <br />dances like the "Dahbke", games, visual art and cooking the message that creativity <br />abounds in our diverse community was communicated, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that Lynda Sackett be given <br />public cognizance and recognition for her efforts in providing a profound learning <br />experience for our middle school children; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY Of LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor for and on behalf of the citizens <br />of Lakewood commend Lynda Sackett for utilizing the arts to broaden understanding of <br />Middle East culture, expand awareness and foster friendships among the City's young. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
