RESOLUTION NO. 7357-98 <br /> <br />BY:Corrigan, Planner¥, George, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION commending Mildred Andregg, one of the founders of <br />the Lakewood Christian Service Center upon her retirement. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mildred Andregg helped open a food center at Faith <br />Presbyterian Church in Lakewood to service those who were less fortunate, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, from a food hand-out station operating out of card board <br />boxes to the multi-purpose social service agency today the progress of the Center can <br />be traced to the dedicated and selfless hard work of Mildred Andregg, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, over the years Mildred has received many awards for her <br />dedication to her community and to the Center; in 1992 she was honored as the most <br />Treasured Volunteer by the Federation for Community Planning, the Ohio House of <br />Representatives gave her special recognition for Volunteerism, in 1994 she received <br />the Center's Helping Hand Award, and the City of Lakewood proclaimed October 29, <br />1994, as Mildred Andregg Day, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during her years with the Lakewood Christian Service Center <br />she accumulated more than 12,000 volunteer hours; as a staff member she served as <br />the recruiter and coordinator of Center Volunteers and assisted the Director with <br />correspondence, statistics and financial records, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mildred Andregg touches the hearts of all who come in <br />contact with her and has enhanced the City of Lakewood beyond measure; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor express appreciation and <br />gratitude to Mildred Andregg for her many years of outstanding service in our <br />community and further wish her continued years of health, happiness and prosperity. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Mildred Andregg and that a <br />copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />AdOpted: <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br /> <br />
