RESOLUTION NO. 7357-98 BY:Corrigan, Planner¥, George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith A RESOLUTION commending Mildred Andregg, one of the founders of the Lakewood Christian Service Center upon her retirement. WHEREAS, Mildred Andregg helped open a food center at Faith Presbyterian Church in Lakewood to service those who were less fortunate, and WHEREAS, from a food hand-out station operating out of card board boxes to the multi-purpose social service agency today the progress of the Center can be traced to the dedicated and selfless hard work of Mildred Andregg, and WHEREAS, over the years Mildred has received many awards for her dedication to her community and to the Center; in 1992 she was honored as the most Treasured Volunteer by the Federation for Community Planning, the Ohio House of Representatives gave her special recognition for Volunteerism, in 1994 she received the Center's Helping Hand Award, and the City of Lakewood proclaimed October 29, 1994, as Mildred Andregg Day, and WHEREAS, during her years with the Lakewood Christian Service Center she accumulated more than 12,000 volunteer hours; as a staff member she served as the recruiter and coordinator of Center Volunteers and assisted the Director with correspondence, statistics and financial records, and WHEREAS, Mildred Andregg touches the hearts of all who come in contact with her and has enhanced the City of Lakewood beyond measure; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor express appreciation and gratitude to Mildred Andregg for her many years of outstanding service in our community and further wish her continued years of health, happiness and prosperity. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Mildred Andregg and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
