RESOLUTION NO. 7422-99 BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith .4_ RESOLUTION commemorating Miles F. Ryan, Jr, for his public service as a volunteer Mediator for the City's Law Department. WHEREAS, since the Mediation Program's inception in 1989, Miles Ryan served, until his 5nal illness, as a volunteer Mediator for the City of Lakewood; and WH:EREAS, Mr. Ryan demonstrated his ability to listen and remain impartial and fair in assisting individuals in the settlement of their disagreements; and WHE~AS, Nh-. Ryan freely gave of his time and talents to assist the Cky's Law Department in implementing and continuing this program; and WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Mediation Program Mr. Ryan constantly used the skills and expertise gained through training and his extensive experience in the field of !aw and education to assist individuals in reaching a mutually agreed upon solution to their disputes in a neutral and formal setting; and WH:EREAS, it is fitting and proper that the public service rendered by Miles F. Ryan, Jr. be given public cognizance and recognition; now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the City of Lakewood extends to the family of Miles F. Ryan, Jr. its s.xxnpathy on his recent death and its appreciation, and that of all the citizens of this community, for his public service as a volunteer Mediator in the Law Department of the City ofLakewood. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed :o forward a certified copy of this Resolution to his sister Delores Ryan, in care of the L~ewOod Law Department, 12650 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minnie meeting., PRESIDENT Approve3
