RESOLUTION NO. 74 4 7 ~ 2 0 0 0 <br /> <br />BY:Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, <br />Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY Resolution to change the next Regular Meeting of <br />Council from the third Monday of January, 2000 to Tuesday, January 18, 2000. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Article III., Section 4 of the Amended <br />Charter of the City of Lakewood, Council may prescribe the time and date for Regular <br />City Council Meetings, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the date generally prescribed by City Council for Regular <br /> Meetings is the first and third Monday of every month, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the third Monday of January, 2000 is celebrated by the City <br /> of Lakewood as Martin Luther King, Ir., Day, a legal holiday; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 19-90, adopted on April 16,1990, provides for <br />Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a legal holiday in the City of Lakewood; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is generally provided that when an official date for taking <br />of such action under law fails upon a declared holiday, the date for such action shall be <br />the next following day; and <br /> <br /> WHE~, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />usual daily operation of the municipality; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council establishes that Tuesday, January 18, 2000, is <br />the next regularly scheduled meeting of City Council in celebration of the Martin <br />Luther King, Jr. Holiday in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted in an <br />open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any <br />of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all membem elected to Council, it shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval b the Ma or <br />shall take effect and be in force after ~k ...........
