Resolution No. ? 490 - 00 <br /> <br />BY:Corrigan, FitzGerald, George,Roth, <br /> Seelie, Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Charlie Bango as Lakewood's 2000 recipient <br />of the Cuyahoga County Entitlement Groups Unsung Hero in Fair Housing <br />Award. ., <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Unsung Hero in Fair Housing Award recognizes the <br />work of an organization or individual committed to promoting fair housing in a <br />community to ensure that all citizens have the fight tO equal housing; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a Lakewood resident, Charlie Bango's commitment to <br />community involvement is demonstrated by his devotion to programs that aim <br />to philosophically and programmatically build support for fair housing; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Bango assumed a leadership role and has participated <br />in the three-session pilot Lakewood Honest Cort~ersations program and has <br />been instrumental in working with city officials to promote the meaningful <br />dialog among Lakewood residents; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Charlie Bango, Program Manager at Neighborhood <br />Counseling Service/Recovery Resources, has demonstrated an exemplary <br />commitment to promoting understanding among residents of diverse culture, <br />ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds within the City of Lakewood; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a volunteer, Mr. Bango advanced support within <br />Lakewood for fair housing. His work resulted in residents having a better <br />understanding of the benefits of fair and equal housing, with the promise of a <br />better Lakewood for everyone; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor; hereby commend Charlie <br />Bango as Lakewood's 2000 recipient of the Cuyahoga County Entitlements <br />Group Unsung Hero in Fair Housing Award <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Charlie Bango and <br />that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting. <br /> <br />^pproved?,.
