RESOLUTION NO. 7 4 ~ S - 0 0 <br /> <br /> BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, <br />Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to recognize longtime Lakewood resident Rich Palmer for his high <br />level of activity and commitment to goals in developing activities accessible to both the disabled <br />and non-disabled. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Rich Palmer recently completed tandem-cycled 1,000 miles on behalf of <br />Face of America, a long-distance cycling program to raise public awareness of the national Rails- <br />to-Trails proseet; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Rich Palmer has worked with the Cleveland Society for the Blind, helping <br /> design a recreation program at the Cleveland Sight Center, was a founding member of the Blind <br /> Sailing Program, and also helped develop the Blind Cross Country Skiing Program and Tandem <br /> Bike and Hike Program in conjunction with the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area <br /> Special Population programs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Rich Pahner carried the Olympic Torch in 1996 through Columbus, Ohio on <br /> behalf of the Northeast Ohio Affiliate of the RP Foundation Fighting Blindness; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Rich Palmer has enriched the City of Lakewood by helping disabled people <br />develop new skills through athletic and recreational experiences; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby recognize and congratulate our own <br />Lakewood citizen, Rich Pahner; and <br /> <br /> Section 2.
