A RESOLUTION for the City of Lakewood to participate in "Walk Your Child to School <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the safety of our children is of paramount concern to Lakewood residents, and <br />from theftWHEREAS'schools onLakew°°da daily basis,iS aanddensely populated city whose children typically walk to and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this activity, while it is part of what is special about this community, also poses <br />e, ertain hazards to children, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, communities across the country have dealt with this challenge by observing <br />"Walk Your Child to School Day'; which sensitizes parents and children to these dangers and helps <br />prevent incidents, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the establishment of this effort would create an appropriate ongoing monument <br />to the memory of John Lazor. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, on behalf of the citizens of the City of Lakewood, <br />endorse and encourage the establishment of"Walk Your Child to School Day" on October 4, 2000, <br />and on a continuing basis thereafter. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
