RESOLUTION NO. ? 5 0 8 - 0 0 <br /> <br /> BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, <br />Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION honoring America's Firefighters who have made the supreme <br />saCrifice while carrying out their duties to our Nation and its communities. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, President Ronald Reagan dedicated the Fallen Firefighters Memorial <br />on October 4, 1981, and a memorial service is conducted on the campus at the National <br />Emergency Training Center to remember these brave Americans, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood recognizes the dedication and sacrifice the <br />Firefighters of this County make for the protection and well-being of all our citizens, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Firefighters of Lakewood will be honoring their fallen brothers <br />and sisters across this Nation on Sunday, October 8, 2000, at the memorial sculpture <br />located at 14601 Madison Avenue, in front of Station #1; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor will commemorate the sacrifice of <br />America's Firefighters by declaring October 8, 2000 in the City as Fallen Firefighters <br />Memorial Day and that all City flags will be flown at the half staffin their honor. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to forward a <br />certified copy of this Resolution to the Lakewood Association of Firefighters, Local #382 <br />of the International Association of Firefighters, AFL-CIO, at 18124 Detroit Avenue, c/o <br />Daniel J.
