RESOLUTION NO. 7515-00 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, Roth <br />Seelie, Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION in recognition of Lakewood's participation in Recycle, <br /> Ohio Month and Ohio Recycles Day. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood residents continue to recognize the importance of <br /> reducing the volume of solid waste by reusing products and materials before final <br /> ~lisposal and recycling as many materials as possible; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, environmental and natural resource concerns are a high <br />priodty for the citizens of Lakewood; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, children continue to learn about recycling and waste <br />reduction through public education programs and environmental curriculums; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood, Lakewood City Council and Lakewood <br />Schools and civic organizations promote recycling as a viable solid waste management <br />option; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood citizens are encouraged to "close the recycling <br />loop" by purchasing products made from or packed in recycled materials to maintain <br />the market demand for locally-collected recyclables and to ensure the continuation and <br />expansion of, the state's recycling collection programs. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council recognizes the City of Lakewood's recycling <br />efforts and involvement in Recycle, Ohio Month, November 2000 and Ohio Recycles <br />Day, November 15, 2000. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to Barbara McGinty and Gayle <br />Higgins in the Lakewood Recycling Office and that a copy of this resolution be spread <br />upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Pr~s~ent <br /> <br /> <br />
