RESOLUTION NO, ?~76-o~ BY: <br /> Corrigam, FitzGerald, George <br /> Seelie, Skindell, Smith. <br /> A RESOL~ of intent to pay from the General Admini~rative Fund Two <br />Thousand Rye Hundred Dollars ($2,500) for the purpose of helping to defray the cost <br />of the Kids Voting Program in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Kids Voting bill was passed unanimously by the Ohio Legislature, <br />allowing kids to share space at the real polling places in each voting district; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Kids Voting program is an effort to improve citizen awareness and <br />participation, and strengthen teaching and parent involvement in schools; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, each municipality whose schools are participating in Kids Voting are <br />required to allocate $2500 to help defray the cost of printing the ballots and the cost of <br />the curriculum for their students and teachers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this program would be a positive educational tool that would benef'~ <br />both the children and parents in our community. Now, therefore <br /> <br />BE rr RESOLVED BY THE CiTY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Lakewood City Council and the Administration agrees that the <br />residents of the City of Lakewood will benefit from the Kids Voting Program and hereby <br />agrees to pay Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500) from the General <br />Administrative Fund to help defray the costs of the Kids Voting Program. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Coundl and of any of its committees, that resulted in such formal <br />a~ons, were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Approved:, _/~TL"~/ ~ ! <br /> <br />President of Coundi <br /> <br /> <br />
