Resolution No: 7616-02 By: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell. A RESOLUTION to commend and aCknowledge Mr. David McGuirk for his dedicated service as Director of Public Works. WHEREAS, David McGuirk has given generously of his ti me and effort in managing the Department of Public Works for the last five years, and has served with dedication, distinction, passion and energetic leadership; and, WHEREAS, the safety, health, and well being of this community is greatly dependent upon the vital services and facilities provided by our Public Works Department; and, WHEREAS, 'the effectiveness of these services rests heavily with the administrative technical abilities of the person in charge; and, WHEREAS it is fitting and proper that the service rendered by Mr. McGuirk be given public cognizance and recognition, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby exte nd to David McGuirk its appreciation and that of all of the citizens of this community for his dedicated service as Director of Public WOrks and further that this Council and Mayor extend to Dave our best wishes in his new position of Chief 'Operating Officer for the City of Cleveland and for many years of happiness in the future. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to David McGuirk, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
