REFERRED TO PUBLIC WORKS CMTE 3/18/02. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, <br /> 7641-02 Roth, Seelie, Skindell, <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of <br />the City, to apply for finandal assistance under the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund <br />Program in support of the restoration and revitalization of Lakewood Park. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Public Works Commission, <br />administers financial assistance for the Clean Ohio Fund throUgh the use of Issue One <br />funds approved by voters in November, 2000; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund administers four State initiatives <br />including the Conservation Program, Brownfield Revitalization Program, Farmland <br />Preservation Program and Recreational Trails program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood wOuld benefit from seeking outside sources to <br />fund the Lakewood Park improvements as detailed in the Park's Master Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Coundl by a vote of ~t least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments applications for these <br />funds must be postmarked no later than April 19, 2002. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE 1'1' RESOLVED BY THE crrY OF LAKE-WOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City, be and is hereby authorized <br />and directed to execute and file an application for Clean Ohio Conservation Fund <br />finandal assistance with the Ohio Public Works Commission and to provide all <br />information and documentation required to become eligible for possible funding <br />assistance. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the City of Lakewood does agree to obligate the funds <br />required to satisfactorily complete the proposed project and become eligible for <br />reimbursement under the terms and conditions of the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund. <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this council, and that all such deliberations of this Coundl and any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health, safety and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City for <br />the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble to this resolution, and provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) of its members elected to Council, this <br />resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption by the Coundl <br /> <br /> <br />
