RESOLU//ON: 7658-02 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dunn, George, <br />Roth, Seelie, Skindell. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION proclaiming the week of May 19-25th 2002 as Emergency <br />Medical Services Week; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, emergency medical services are a vital public service; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams are ready to <br />provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, emergency medical services providers have traditionally served as <br />the safety net Of America's health care system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams, whether career <br />or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education m <br />enhance their lifesaving skills; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Americans benefit daily from the knowledge and skills of these <br />highly trained individuals; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments of <br />emergency medical service providers by designating Emergency Medical Services Week; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, injury prevention and appropriate use of the EMS system will help <br />reduce national health care costs; and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO; <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor declare May 19-25t~ 2002 as Emergency <br />Medical Services Week in the City of LakewOod. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorizeeband directed <br />to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Lawrence E. Mroz, Chief, Division of Fire, <br />14601 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the <br />minutes of the meeting. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any.of its committees that resulted <br />in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br /> <br />
