RESOLUTION NO. 766,~-02 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell. <br /> <br />Lax A ,RE_ SOLUTIO_N honoring Roy Beppler for his thirty-four years of service with the <br /> ewood Community Recreation and Education Department. <br /> <br /> WltEREAS, In 1969, Roy Beppler began umpiring in the Adult Softball and the Youth <br />and Adult Touch Football programs, and in 1972 he began officiating in the Youth and Adult <br />Basketball programs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Roy has always been available when called upon, even to fill in at the last <br />minute, no matter what; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Over the years, Roy has officiated in every program that Lakewood had to <br />offer; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, As a result of his hard work, dedication and professionalism, both on and <br />off the field, Roy Beppler, along with seventeen.other umpires, became the first to be inducted <br />into the Lakewood Umpire Hall of Fame in 1983; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Roy's years of service, love of the game and relationships he has built over <br />the years has won him the admiration of several generations; and <br /> <br />Roe "WI~"I~A'S' Ro.~.y B,epple_r h~. always been known for his loyalty to Lakewood <br /> ~.auon, ms z.ea0.w omcims and to the thousands of participants whose lives he has touched <br />over me years, wlaether or not they agreed with his calls; now, therefore: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That we congratulate Roy Beppler on an outstanding officiating and umpiring <br />career; and <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concemine <br />and relating to the passage oft}ds resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council <br />and. that all such deliberation of Council and of any ofi{s committees that resulted in such formal <br />action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requiremems. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
