REFERRED TO PUBLIC WORKS CO~DfITTEE <br />6/3/02. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7670-02 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, <br /> Roth, Seeli.e, Skindell. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to apply for <br />financial assistance through the State's Natureworks/Land and Water Conservation Fund <br />(LWCF) for the purpose of seeking funding to assist in the implementation of lakefront <br />revitalization initiatives at Lakewood Park in accordance with the Lakewood Park Master Plan. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, <br />administers financial assistance for public recreation purposes, through Natureworks/Land and <br />Water Conservation Fund (LWCF); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Natureworks/Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) is a <br />competitive grant reimbursement program that provides up to 75% reimbursement for <br />initiatives that preserve, protect, develop, restore and enhance valuable natural resources and <br />community parklands; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood desires financial assistance under the <br />Natureworks/Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). Now therefore, <br /> <br />BE ri' RESOLVED BY THE CrI'Y OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City, be and is hereby authorized and <br />directed to execute and file an application to the Natureworks/Land and Water Conservation <br />Fund (LWCF) with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and to provide all information <br />and documentation required to become eligible for possible funding assistance. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the City of Lakewood does agree to obligate the funds required to <br />satisfactorily complete the proposed project and become eligible for reimbursement under the <br />terms and conditions of the LWCF and/or the State of Ohio NatureWorks Program. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of <br />this council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that <br />resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
