RESOLU~ONNO. 7689-02 BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Skindell. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTZON authorizing and directing the Mayor for and <br />on behalf of the City of Lakewood to enter into a Contract with the Western <br />Reserve Area Agency on Aging to accept funds for the City's programs covering <br />Sodal/Supportive and Nutrition Services, such contract providing partial funding <br />for supplemental programs under Title II! of the 1965 Older Americans Act. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging is administering a <br />program of grants from the Federal Government under Title !II of the 1965 Older <br />Americans Act whereby this City may obtain funds to provide Programs for <br />persons 60 years of age or older; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at-least five (5) members elected <br />thereto determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this <br />resolution shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in AR'I'[CLE <br />T[I, SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CTI'Y OF <br />LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public <br />property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of <br />municipal departments in that if this application is not made in a timely manner, <br />the C"~y will lose its opportunity to obtain Issue Two Infrastructure Bond dollars. <br />Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE TI' RESOLVED BY THE CTrY OF LAKEVVOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> SectJon 1. That the Mayor, for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be <br />and she is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the <br />Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, providing partial funding of the City's <br />Program under ~tle IT! of the 1965 Older Americans ACt. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted <br />in an open meeting of this Coundl, and that all such deliberations of this Coundl <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings <br />open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Sec"don 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health, safety and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City <br />for the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble to this resolution, and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) of its members <br />elected to Coundl, this resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption by the Coundl and approval by the Mayor otherwise, it shall <br />take effect and be in force aver the eadiest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Approved~~~c~ ~f,f <br /> / <br /> <br />PreSident <br /> <br />Ce~ <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
