RESOLUTION NO. 7692-02 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION honoring America's Firefighters who have made the <br />supreme sacrifice while carrying out their duties of our nation and its communitieS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, President Ronald Reagan dedicated the Fallen Firefighters <br />Memorial on October 4, 1981, and a memorial service is conducted on the campus at <br />the National Emergency Training Center to remember these brave Americans, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood recognizes the dedication and sacrifices the <br />Firefighters of this country make for the protection and well-being of all our citizens, <br />and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Firefighters of Lakewood will be honoring their fallen brothers <br />and sisters across this nation on Sunday, October 6th, 2002, at the memorial sculpture <br />located lat 14601 Madison Avenue, in front of Fire Station No 1; now, therefore: <br /> <br />BE IT. RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, will commemorate the sacrifice of <br />America's Firefighters by declaring October 6m, 2002 in the City of Lakewood as Fallen <br />Firefighters Memorial Day and that all City of Lakewood flags will be flown at the half <br />staff in their honor. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a copy this Resolution to the Lakewood Association of Firefighters, <br />Local #382 of the International Association of Firefighters, AFL-CIO, at 18124 Detroit <br />Avenue, cio Daniel J. Herdmann, Lakewood, Ohio, and that a copy of this Resolution <br />be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted, in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />M~R <br /> <br /> <br />
