RESOLUTION NO, 7703-02 BY: Corriaan, Dram, FitzC-o~d Georae, Roth, See~, Skln~ll A RESOLUTION to congratulate the Lakewood Public Library on being awarded the ranking of number one library in the country in its population category as rated by the 2002 Hennen's American Public Library Ratings, WHEREAS, The Hennen's American Public Library Rating has ranked Ohio first among all states in library rankings and the Lakewood Public Library as one of the top 10 most cost-effective libraries in the State of Ohio, and number one in the country in its population category; and, WHEREAS, Lakewood Public Library had a total circulation for 2001 of over 15 million and 12,097,156 hits from Lakewood and around the world were made to the 2,300 web pages created and maintained by the Library; and WHEREAS, Programs, meetings, and classes have been offered at the Ubrary with 118,00 people attending and the Library's Children's and Youth Services provided 2,919 activities for Lakewood's children with 2g,853 attendees; and, WHERAS, Our community is fortunate to have the excellent facilities that are available through Lakewood Public Library and all citizens are urged to visit the library and to acquaint themselves with the many fine services offered; and further, to join this Council and this Administration is commending those who have worked so diligently to make this fine facility an asset to our community. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1, That this- Council and Mayor, hereby extend to the staff of the Lakewood Public Library its appreciation and that of all the citizens of this community for their exceptional community spirit and dedication to our Lakewood community. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to forward this Resolution to the Lakewood Public Library,~ cio Mr. Ken Warren, 15425 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, OH 44107 and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, ~nd that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
