RESOLUTION NO: 7758-03 BY: Corrigan, Dever, Dunn, <br /> FitzGerald, George, Roth, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION recognizing that the week of May 4-10, 2003 has been designated as National <br />Preservation Week and acknowledging the 2003 Preservation Award winners within the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHERAS, the City of Lakewood has been identified as having many'historic properties and has long <br />been recognized as a leader in historic preservation issues; and <br /> <br /> WHERAS, the Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board has been established to serve in an advisory <br />capacity for the purpose of educating, informing, and making recommendations to City Officials, <br />Departments, Boards and Commission, and the community on matters relating to historic preservation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board has instituted an awards program to honor <br />exemplary projects that have contributed significantly to improving the quality of life in the City of <br />Lakewood through the preservation of our historic architectural resources; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Historical Society, Mrs. Kathy Haber, President, has 'been selected to <br />receive the 2003 Preservation Award for Sustained IVlaintenance for the Society's stewardship of the Oldest <br />Stone House and the Nicholson House; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Crqn and Mr. & Mrs..~ames Overman have been selected to receive the <br />2003 Preservation Award for Historic Rehabilitation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Canepa have been selected to receive the 2003 Preservation Award <br />for a Sympathetic Addition; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Hr. Kenneth Tyson of Donatos Pizza has been selected to receive the 2003 Preservation <br />Award for Adaptive Reuse; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr, Gerald and Ms. Sylvia Sports-Weber of Weber Architecture have been selected to <br />receive the 2003 Preservation Award for Rehabilitation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the intent of this awards program is to recognize and publicize the preservation, <br />rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and sustained maintenance of historically and architecturally significant <br />properties in the City of Lakewood. NOW THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE ~T RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Hayor recognizes that the week of May 4-10, 2003 has <br />been designated as National Preservation Week and acknowledges the 2003 Preservation Award winners <br />who have contributed significantly to improving the City of Lakewood through the preservation of our <br />historic architectural resources. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a <br />certified copy of this Resolution to Richard ]. Sicha, Chairman, Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board, and that <br />a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> SECT[ON 3.
