RESOLUTION NO: 7758-03 BY: Corrigan, Dever, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, Roth, Seelie. A RESOLUTION recognizing that the week of May 4-10, 2003 has been designated as National Preservation Week and acknowledging the 2003 Preservation Award winners within the City of Lakewood. WHERAS, the City of Lakewood has been identified as having many'historic properties and has long been recognized as a leader in historic preservation issues; and WHERAS, the Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board has been established to serve in an advisory capacity for the purpose of educating, informing, and making recommendations to City Officials, Departments, Boards and Commission, and the community on matters relating to historic preservation; and WHEREAS, the Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board has instituted an awards program to honor exemplary projects that have contributed significantly to improving the quality of life in the City of Lakewood through the preservation of our historic architectural resources; and WHEREAS, the Lakewood Historical Society, Mrs. Kathy Haber, President, has 'been selected to receive the 2003 Preservation Award for Sustained IVlaintenance for the Society's stewardship of the Oldest Stone House and the Nicholson House; and WHEREAS, Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Crqn and Mr. & Mrs..~ames Overman have been selected to receive the 2003 Preservation Award for Historic Rehabilitation; and WHEREAS, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Canepa have been selected to receive the 2003 Preservation Award for a Sympathetic Addition; and WHEREAS, Hr. Kenneth Tyson of Donatos Pizza has been selected to receive the 2003 Preservation Award for Adaptive Reuse; and WHEREAS, Mr, Gerald and Ms. Sylvia Sports-Weber of Weber Architecture have been selected to receive the 2003 Preservation Award for Rehabilitation; and WHEREAS, the intent of this awards program is to recognize and publicize the preservation, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and sustained maintenance of historically and architecturally significant properties in the City of Lakewood. NOW THEREFORE, BE ~T RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and the Hayor recognizes that the week of May 4-10, 2003 has been designated as National Preservation Week and acknowledges the 2003 Preservation Award winners who have contributed significantly to improving the City of Lakewood through the preservation of our historic architectural resources. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Richard ]. Sicha, Chairman, Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. SECT[ON 3. It is hereby found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the pa'ssage of this Resolution were passed in open meetings of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in any such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including the City's Charter and Codified Ordinances.
