<br /> A RESOLUTION recognizing that the week of May 2-8, 2004 has been designated as NaUonal Preservation Week
<br />and acknowledging the 2004 Preservation Award winners within the City of Lakewood.
<br />
<br /> WHERAS, the City of Lakewood has been identified as having many historic properties and has long been
<br />recognized as a leader in historic preservation issues; and
<br />
<br /> WHERAS, the Lakewoed Heritage Advisory Board has been established to serve in an advisory capacity for the
<br />purpose of educating, informing, and making recommendations to City Officials, Departments, Boards and Commission,
<br />and the community on matters relating to historic preservation; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Lakeweed Heritage Advisory Board has instituted an awards program to honor exemplary projects
<br />that have contributed significantly to improving the quality of life in the City of Lakewood through the preservation of our
<br />historic architectural resources; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. & Mrs. Scott Borland, Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Meese, Mr. & Mrs. Matthew Popielski, and Mr. David
<br />Strong and Ns. Betsy Lantz have been selected to receive the 2004 Preservation Award for Rehabilitation; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Hr. & Mrs. Mark Stockman have been selected to receive the 2004 Preservation Award for Historic
<br />Rehabilitation; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. & Mrs Marc Waita have been selected to receive the 2004 Preservation Honor Award; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. & Mrs. Seen gerry, and Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Dresing, have been selected to receive the 2004
<br /> Preservation Award for Sympathetic Addition; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr & Mrs. Gregory Ahren, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Lamparyk, and Mr. & Mrs. Matthew Markling have been
<br />selected to receive the 2004 Preservation Award for New Porch Construction/Rehabilitation; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. & Mrs..John Snider and Mr. & Mrs. Harald Friedrich have been selected to receive the 2004
<br />Preservation Award for New Garage Construction/Rehabilitation; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. James Callam of the Winking Lizard Tavern, has been selected to receive the 2004 Preservation
<br />Award for Adaptive Reuse; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Tom Koss of Angelo's Pizza, Mr. Patrick Sullivan of Sullivan's Irish Pub, and Mrs. Virginia Marti
<br />Veith of the Virginia Marti College of Fashion and Design have been selected to receive the 2004 Preservation Award for
<br />Commercial Revitalization; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the intent of this awards program is to recognize and publicize the preservation, rehabilitation,
<br />adaptive reuse, and sustained maintenance of historically and architecturally significant properties in the City of
<br />Lakeweed. NOW THEREFORE,
<br />
<br /> BE ~T RESOLVED BYTHE CITY OF LAKEWO,OD, STATE OF OHIO:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor recognizes that the week of May 2-8, 2004 has been designated
<br />as National Preservation Week and acknowledges the 2004 Preservation Award winners who have contributed
<br />significantly to improving the City of Lakewood through the preservation of our historic architectural resources.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy
<br />of this Resolution to Richard .3. Sicha, Chairman, Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board, and that a copy of this Resolution be
<br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
<br />
<br /> SECTION 3. It is hereby found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating
<br />to the passage of this Resolution were passed in open meetings of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this
<br />Council and of any of its committees that resulted in any such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in
<br />compliance with all legal requirements including the City's Charter and Codified Ordinances.
