A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director of the Department of Human Services, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Ohio Department of Education to accept and expend funds for the Family Chiid Day Care Home Program. WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has been awarded a grant estimated at $195,200 by the Ohiò Department of Education to provide reimbursements to home day care providers for meals supplied to children of quaiifying families and program administration fees; and WHEREAS, 2003-2004 was the first year that the City of Lakewood administered the FCDCH Program and provided reimbursement for meais to more than 280 chiidren; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood, Department of Human Services, would like to ensure that this program is continued for quaiifying participants; and WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SEcrONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the contract for the current program year begins October 1, 2004. Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO Section 1. That the Mayor or her designee, on behalf of the City, is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Ohio Department of Education to accept and expend funds for the Family Child Day Care Home Program. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this councii, and that ali such deliberations of this Councii and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the pubiic, in compliance with all legal requirements.
