RESOLUT/ON NO. 7970-0s <br /> <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, $eelie. <br /> <br /> AN EMFRGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as Director of Public Safety, <br />on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' <br />Compensation to accept and expend fonds to purchase Stryker Stair-Pro Stairchairs and <br />related equipment in the amount of $9,816.00 with the City matching funds in the <br />amount of $2,454.00. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has received a grant award that will allow the <br />City to purchase equipment in an attempt to reduce workplace injuries and lower <br />workers' compensation costs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth ir~ ARTICLE III, SEC'TONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMFNDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that this resolution <br />is necessary to enter into the grant agreement in a timely manner. Now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. The Mayor as Director of Public Safety, is hereby authorized, on <br />behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' <br />Compensation to accept and expend funds to purchase Stryker Stair-Pro Stairchairs and <br />related equipment in the amount of $9,816.00 with the City matching funds in the <br />amount of $2,454.00. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage df this resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health, safety and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operaUon of the City for <br />the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble to this ordinance, and provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) of its members elected to Council, this <br />ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption by the Council <br />and approval by the Mayor otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />P~esident <br /> <br />Clerk / <br /> <br />Ma~or fi/ ' <br /> <br /> <br />
