<br />Pe~e.red 4/L8/05, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7978-05 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Demro, Dever, Dunn, <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION to honor Bob Whidden as he retires after 21 <br />years as Coach of the Sf Edward High School Hockey Team <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Bob Whidden began his career in 1965 for the Toronto <br />Marlboros of OHA He played four years with the Cieveland Crusaders in the <br />World Hockey Association from 1972-1976 He was inducted into the Cleveland <br />Barons ring of honor for his impact on hockey in the Greater Cleveland area <br />including his efforts to relocate the Lumberjacks to Cieveland; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Bob Whidden has been the coach of the Sf Edward <br />Hockey Team for the last 21 years and has led his team to 16 state <br />championship tour,naments and 10 state litles; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Bob Whidden began his coaching career at St <br />Edward High School winning a state title and after 21 years he is retiring from his <br />coaching posilion with a state title win. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that Bob Whidden be given <br />public cognizance and recognition, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD. STATE OF OHIO' <br /> <br />Section 1 That this Councii and Mayor extend to Bob Whidden <br />this expression of congratulations for his 21 years of coaching the St Edward <br />High School Hockey Team to 10 state title victories and winning 507 games; and <br />to wish him future health and happiness in his retirement <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized <br />and directed 10 forward a certified cOpy of this Resolulion to Bob Whidden, and <br />that a copy of this Resolulion be spread upon the minutes of this meeting <br /> <br />Section 3.
