A RESOLUTION to recognize members of The Lakewood Division of Police and all peace officers during National Police Week 2005, WHEREAS, the week of May 15th through May 21" has been designated as National Police Week, 2005; and WHEREAS, May 15th is National Peace Officers' Memorial Day wheh we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and recognize those who work daily to protect and serve the citizens of our community; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the public service rendered by the members of the Lakewood Division of Police and peace officers nationally be given public cognizance and r~ognition during this time. Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CIlY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Séction 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to the members of the Lakewood Division of Police and peace officers across the nation its appreciation for their public service. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Division of Police and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements.
