<br />RESOLUTION NO. 80 19-05 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan,Demro,Dever,Dunn <br />FitzGerald,Madigan,Seelie <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION that the Council of the City of Lakewood will endorse, support and to <br />pledge to work for the passage of the amendments to the Second Amended Charter of the City of <br />Lakewood which would require City Council to adopt, reject or modify downward the saiary <br />recommendations of the CMI Service Commissions for the salaries of the Mayor or members of <br />Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XXIII, Section 8, of the SèCond Amended Charter of the <br />City of Lakewood, the Charter Review Commission was convened In 2004, and the Charter <br />Review Commission met and considered revisions and amendments to the Charter, and made <br />certain recommendations to amend the Charter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review CommiSsion rèCommended amendments to Article II, <br />Sèction S; Article III, Section 3 and Article XI, Section 7 of the Second Amended Charter to give <br />greater weight and effect to the advisory salary recommendations for the Mayor and members of <br />Council made every two years by the Civil Service Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the recommendation of the Charter Review Commission was based in part <br />upon the process undertaken by the Civil Service Commission of compiling data and surveying <br />similar communities for salary ranges to support their salary recommendations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission further concluded that these amendments <br />will provide a more appropriate manner to consider adjustments to the salary of the Mayor or <br />members of Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance No.74-o5, to submit this question to the voters of the City was <br />pássed by this Council on JUly 18, 2005 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Lakewood wili decide this issue in the eiection to be <br />held November 8, 2005. Now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood will endorse, support and to <br />pledge to work for the passage of the amendments to the Second Amended Charter of the City of <br />Lakewood which would require City Council to adopt, reject or modify downward the salary <br />recommendations of the Civil Service Commissions for the salaries of the Mayor or members of <br />Council; and <br /> <br />Section 2.
