<br />RESOLUTION NO. 8020-05 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Corrigan,Demro,Dever,Dunn <br />FitzGerald,Madigan,Corrigan <br /> <br />A RESOWTION that the Council of the City of Lakewood will endorse, support and to <br />pledge to work for the passage of the issue which seeks the expansion of the use of two mills <br />currently utilized only forthe sewage disposal plant to include financing the capital needs of <br />street infrastructure, municipal buildings, and parks and recreation facilities. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one of the primary funding sources for the City of Lakewood and for capital <br />improvements is the property tax; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Auditor has decreased the amount of property tax <br />millage allocated for capital improvement purposes for fiscai year 2005; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the future capital needs of the sewage treatment plant have been estimated <br />to require less than two mills of funding annually; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the capital needs of the City for street infrastructure, perks and recreation <br />facilities, and other capital improvements continue to increase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this expansion of the use of millage is not a tax increase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance No.106-04, to submit this quesUon to the voters of the City was <br />passed by this Council on February 7, 2005 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Lakewood will decide this issue in the primary <br />election to be held October 4, 2005. Now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, SJ'ATE OF OHIO <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood will endorse, support and <br />pledge to work for passage of the issue to allow the expansion of the use of two mills currently <br />utilized only for the sewage disposal plant to include financing the capital needs of street <br />infrastructurer municipal buildings, parks and recreation facilities. <br /> <br />Section 2.
