<br />lESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />8025-05 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Demro, Dever, Dunn, <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelíe. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION to honor Lakewood Baptist Church on the occasion of their lOath anniversary. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, On October 1, 1905 Lakewood Baptist Church was formaily organized; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, It's former Pastor, Dr. Wiiliam Noyes, was instrumentai in eniisting the heip of aii the <br />akewood churches to start a food center wh.ich eventuaily grew to be the Lakewood Christian Service <br />:enter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Church has opened its doors and the congregation it's hear to weicome <br />nmigrants from Romania, Laos and Russia and help get them settled; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, In 1954 a community nursery schooi for 3 and 4 year olds became the forerunner <br />If the Lakewood Baptist Chiid Development Center which cares for over 100 chiidren every day. In <br />Iddition, there is a before and after school program for grade school children; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Lakewood Baptist Church members have been volunteering for Meais on Wheels, <br />Jorthcoast Heaith Ministry, Lakewood Christian Services, Lakewood Hospitai and other organizations, as <br />veii as hosting Boy Scouts, Brownies, Overeaters Anonymous and the Tabernacle Bautista (Hispanic <br />:hurch); now, therefore: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That this Councii and the Mayor hereby extend to Lakewood Baptist, their <br />:ongratulations, and that of the citizens of Lakewood, on the lOath anniversary of their founding. <br /> <br />;ection 2.
