Resolution No. 8114-06 By: Antonio, Butler, Demro, Devex, <br /> FitzGexald, Madigan, Beelie. <br /> A RESOLUTION supporting the gant application by the Division of Police to <br /> the Ohio Attomey General's Office for funding for the City's Dmg Abuse Resistance I <br /> Education. program, and commending the Division of Police for its continued efforts to <br /> educate young people of the City of Lakewood as to the hazards of alcohol and dings. <br /> WHEREAS, the Division of Police (Police) has operated the Drug Abuse <br /> Resistance Education (D A.R.E.) progam since 1990;. and <br /> WHEREAS, the Police are currently operating D A..R.E, programs in all <br /> elementary and middle schools within the City;. and <br /> WHEREAS, the D..4.R.E. program has a positive influence on the young people <br /> of the City through education as to the hazards of alcohol and drugs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the number of students participating in and graduating from the <br /> D. A.R.E.. program increases annually; and <br /> WHEREAS, funding to support the continued operation of the D.A.R,E.. program <br /> is available from the Ohio Attomey General's office. Now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAEEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1: That the Mayor and the Council hereby support the grant <br /> application by the Division of Police to the Attorney General's Office for the funding for <br /> the City's Dmg Abuse Resistance Education program <br /> SECTION 2: That the Mayor and Council hereby support the Division of Police for its <br /> continued efforts in educating young people of the City as to the hazards of alcohol and drugs <br /> SECTION 3: It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br /> concerning and relating to this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and <br /> that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br /> actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements <br /> Adopted: D R~-e <br /> President <br /> f <br /> Clerk <br /> <br /> Approved: oP~?/O <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />
