Seelie. <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor or his designee to provide a development retention grant in <br /> an amount not to exceed Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) to the Beck Center for the Arts to <br /> be used for consulting services to facilitate the analysis of its physical plant for retention of the <br /> Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood <br /> WHEREAS, the Beck Center for the Arts has been a valued community arts institution in Lakewood <br /> for nearly seventy-five (75) years; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Beck Center for the Arts has a physical plant spread over several buildings, <br /> developed and. configured at various times, and needs a modern analysis of its facilities and <br /> utilities with a view toward maintaining its presence in the City of Lakewood; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto determines that this <br /> Resolution is an emergency measure, and that this Resolution shall take effect at the earliest date <br /> possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTION YO and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF <br /> THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that immediate action is necessary to facilitate the analysis for the <br /> retention of the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood. Now Therefore, <br /> i <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO, <br /> i <br /> Section 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood hereby authorizes the Mayor or his <br /> designee to provide a development retention grant in an amount not to exceed Twenty Thousand <br /> Dollars ($20,000.00) to the Beck Center for the Arts td be used for consulting services to facilitate <br /> the analysis of its physical plant for retention of the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood. The <br /> Law Director shall draft and negotiate an appropriate agreement to insure oversight of the grant. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br /> and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br /> and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br /> formal actions, were in meetings open to the public in compliance with'all legal requirements. <br /> Section 3.
