A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor or his designee to provide a development retention grant in an amount not to exceed Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) to the Beck Center for the Arts to be used for consulting services to facilitate the analysis of its physical plant for retention of the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood WHEREAS, the Beck Center for the Arts has been a valued community arts institution in Lakewood for nearly seventy-five (75) years; and WHEREAS, the Beck Center for the Arts has a physical plant spread over several buildings, developed and. configured at various times, and needs a modern analysis of its facilities and utilities with a view toward maintaining its presence in the City of Lakewood; and WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto determines that this Resolution is an emergency measure, and that this Resolution shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTION YO and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that immediate action is necessary to facilitate the analysis for the retention of the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood. Now Therefore, i BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO, i Section 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood hereby authorizes the Mayor or his designee to provide a development retention grant in an amount not to exceed Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) to the Beck Center for the Arts td be used for consulting services to facilitate the analysis of its physical plant for retention of the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood. The Law Director shall draft and negotiate an appropriate agreement to insure oversight of the grant. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions, were in meetings open to the public in compliance with'all legal requirements. Section 3.
