<br />RESOLUTION NO . 8144-06 <br /> <br />BY: Antonio, Butler, Demro, Dever, <br />FitzGerald, ~fudigan, Seelie. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION in support of House Concurrent Resolution No 51 sponsored by State <br />Representative Michael Skindell and Senate Concurrent Resolution No 34 sponsored by State <br />Senator Dale Miller calling for changes to "No Child Left Behind" <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Lakewood Board of Education has voted unanimonsly to support <br />resolutions in the Ohio House and Senate calling for changes to the Federal No Child Left <br />Behind Act (NCLB); and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, For nearly a yéar, the Lakewood Board of Education and Superintendent <br />have lobbied for changes to this Act; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, State Representative Michael Skindell and State Senator Dale Miller have <br />each submitted resolutions vvith bi-partisan support; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Representative Skindell stated that "This Act unfairly penalizes those <br />districts, like Lakewood, that are large and diverse."
