RESOLUTION NO. 8146-06B By: Antonio, Butler, Demro, Dever, <br /> FitzGerald~ Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION amending Resolution No; 8146-06A, adopted November 6, 2006, <br />authorizing the Director of the Department of Human Services, on behalf of the City, to <br />enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to accept additional <br />funds for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public health infrastructure <br />to address bioterrorism and other public health threats in an amount not to exceed <br />$45,.000, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Government set aside additional public health <br />infrastructure funds targeting pandemic influenza preparedness planning; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood has been awarded over $40,000 in 2006 for Public health <br />capacity and core leadership development, workforce development, communication <br />infrastructure and risk communication, epidemiology and disease surveillance and mass <br />vaccination and prophylaxis preparedness; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as s. et forth in ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the project year is <br />already underway. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CrFY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Resolution No. 8146-06A, adopted November 6, 2006, <br />currently reading as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized, <br />on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga <br />County Board of Health to accept and expend funds in the total amount of <br />$40,034.00 for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public <br />health infrastructure to address pandemic influenza preparedness and <br />other public health issues. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were <br />passed in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this <br />Council and any of its committees that resulted in such actions were in <br />meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requirements. <br /> <br />shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized, on <br />behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Health to accept and expend funds in the total amount of <br />$51,061,00 for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public <br />health infrastructure to address pandemic influenza prgparedness and <br />other public health issues, <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were <br />passed in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this <br />Council and any of its committees that resulted in such actions were in <br />meetings open to the public and in comp[lance with legal requirements. <br /> <br /> <br />
