RESOLUTION NO. 8146-06B By: Antonio, Butler, Demro, Dever, FitzGerald~ Madigan, Seelie. A RESOLUTION amending Resolution No; 8146-06A, adopted November 6, 2006, authorizing the Director of the Department of Human Services, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to accept additional funds for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public health infrastructure to address bioterrorism and other public health threats in an amount not to exceed $45,.000, WHEREAS, the Federal Government set aside additional public health infrastructure funds targeting pandemic influenza preparedness planning; and WHEREAS, Lakewood has been awarded over $40,000 in 2006 for Public health capacity and core leadership development, workforce development, communication infrastructure and risk communication, epidemiology and disease surveillance and mass vaccination and prophylaxis preparedness; and WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall take effect at the earliest date possible as s. et forth in ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the project year is already underway. Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CrFY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO Section 1. That Resolution No. 8146-06A, adopted November 6, 2006, currently reading as follows: Section 1. That the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to accept and expend funds in the total amount of $40,034.00 for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public health infrastructure to address pandemic influenza preparedness and other public health issues. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were passed in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such actions were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requirements. shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1. That the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to accept and expend funds in the total amount of $51,061,00 for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public health infrastructure to address pandemic influenza prgparedness and other public health issues, Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were passed in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such actions were in meetings open to the public and in comp[lance with legal requirements.
