RESOLUTION NO 8162~07 BY' Antonio, Butler, Demro, Dever, <br /> FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br />A RI~SOLUTION conm~ending renowned musician Ernie Krivda for sharing h s talent, <br />experience, enthusiasm m~d love of jazz with the City of Lakewood by serving as a <br />mentor to Lakewood High School jazz musicians <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Lakewood resident Ernie Krivda has spent a lifetime pursuing and achieving <br />musical excellence, and is now passing on h/s knowledge to the students of Lakewood <br />High School, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, beginning hi his teenage years, not so long ago, Ernie Kfivda has made <br />music alongside other legendary performers such as the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, <br />Smokey Robinson, The Four Tops, Martha and the Vandellas, and many more, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, since the 1970s, Emie Krivda has been hailed as "one of the most important <br />saxophonists of the decade", and performed with other great names of American jazz <br />such as Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock, and <br /> <br />WHI~KEAS, Ernie Krivda has expanded the musical lexicon by composing numerous <br />original compositions while tour/rig and playing with his own ensembles, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Emie Kr/vda has sought to share the wealth of his musical knowledge, first <br />by becoming a charter member of the Tr/~C Jazz Studies faculty, and more recently as a <br />mentor to the young Jazz musicians of Lakewood High School, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO, <br /> <br /> Section 1 That this Comacil and Mayor wish to commend Emie Krivda for <br />committing to sharing his wealth of knowledge, tJlent, experience and enthusiasm for <br />jazz as a mentor for Lakewood High SchOol jazz students <br /> <br /> Section 2 That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby author/zed and directed to <br />forward a copy this Resolution to Erhie Ka-ivda <br /> <br /> Section 3 It is found and determined that all formal actious of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting <br />of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements, <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved' <br /> <br /> <br />
