ResolutionNo, 8166-07 By-Butler, Demro, Dever, <br /> FitzGerald, Pmdigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION proclaiming the week of March 25 March 31, 2007 as Severe <br />Weather Safety Awm'eness Week and urging participation in safety activities; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the CRy of Lakewood joins the Governor of the State of Oh o, and the <br />Board of Cunmfissinners of Cuyahoga County in declaring Severe Weather Safety Awareness <br />Week; and, <br /> <br /> ~VH~REAS, Cuyahoga County is located in the area of the State of Ohio described as <br />Tornado Alley, wherein the potential hazards of loss of life and injury to persons and proper~y <br />fi'om tornadoes are high; and Cuyahoga County is also located in an area oflhe State of Ohio <br />wherein there is the potential for the loss of life and injm-y due to the perils of floods; m~d, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, commm~ity awareness and planning for such threats as tornadoes and/or <br />flooding can result in saving of lives and prevention of injury, particularly among special <br />populatiuns such as in schools, day cares, nursing homes m~d health care facilities; and, <br /> <br /> WHEILEAS, a Tonmdo Safety Exercise will be conducted on Wednesday, Mm. ch 28~ <br />2007, at 9:50 a.m, and that such exercise shall be specifically designed for county~wide <br />elementary school and local municipal participation and for testing of the Emergency Broadcast <br />System and other appropriate components of the emergency management; now-, <br /> <br />BE II RESOLVED BY THE CI2Y OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO' <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor join with the Governor of Ohio and <br />Cormnissiuners of Cuyalmga County in declaring March 25 March 31, 2007 as Severe Weather <br />Safety Awareness Week in the City of Lakewood and suppor~ the comity-wide Tornado Safely <br />Exercise that will be conducted on Wedunsday, March 28, 2007 al 9'50 am <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a copy lhis Resolution to' Mm'ray A Withrow, Manager, Emergency Services, 1255 <br />Euclid Avenue, Suite 102, Cleveland, ©bio 44115-1807 and a that a copy of this Resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting <br /> <br /> Section 3 It is found and determined that ail formal actions of this Council concerning <br />m*d relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in m~ open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resuJted in such <br />fbrmal actiun were in meetings open to the public in complim~ce with all legal requirements <br /> <br />Adopted' *?/l~r.~ /~1 90~. <br /> <br />CLERK <br /> <br />Approved- <br /> <br /> <br />
