RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />8199-07 <br /> <br />BY: Antonip, Butley, Demro, Dever, <br /> FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLLFFION to take effect immediately provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect <br />and be in force affcer the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing and directing the <br />Mayor or his designee, for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood to enter into an <br />Agreement with the Lakewood Board of Education to accept funds for early literacy <br />consultation services of the Department of Human Services, Division of Early Childhood <br />for their Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Grant for the Lakewood Able Plus <br />Program. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Board of Education successfully applied for <br />Temporary Assistance for Needy Families grant funds for the Lakewood ABLE Plus <br />Program and incorporated a partnership with the City of Lakewood, Department of <br />Human Services, Division of Early Childhood for early literacy consultation services, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the goal of th s partnersh p is for staff consultation on various <br />early learning and literacy topics to enhance the early literacy portion of their ABLE Plus <br />program~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Department of Human Services, Division of <br />Early Childhood, will receive a maximum of $2,775 to provide early literacy consultation <br />services for the time period covering ,luly 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. Now <br />Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BYTHE C1TY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1, That the Mayor or his designee, for and on behalf of the City <br />of Lakewood, be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an Agreement with <br />the Lakewood Board of Education to provide funding for early literacy consultation <br />services provided through the Department of Human Services, Division of Early <br />Childhood ' <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />C~uncil concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted in an <br />open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of <br />its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be ah emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, propeF% health, <br />safety and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City for the reasons set <br />forth and defined in the preamble to this ordinance, and provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) of its members elected to Council, this Resolution shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor <br />otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force afl:er the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />MAYOR ~./ / ~' <br /> <br /> <br />
