<br />RESOLUTION NO. 8241-08 BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Dever, <br />Madigan, Powers, Summers. <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Brian T. Corrigan for his public service as Law <br />Director of the City of Lake wood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Brian T. Corrigan was appointed Director of Law for the City of <br />Lakewood in 2004, after being elected three times to Council as Ward I representative, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during his tenure as Law Director, the City Law Department <br />successfully prosecuted countless court cases, drafted, re-wrote, and reviewed over 1,000 pieces of <br />legislation on behalf of the various departments, divisions and City Council, and provided extensive <br />legal guidance to Directors and staff alike, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, among the routine legal matters typically facing a City Law Director, <br />Brian T. Corrigan was charged with atypical matters such as the complex negotiations involving the <br />AT&T agreement, street vacations for the massive school expansion project, the issues related to the <br />momentous change to in-house collections of muuicipal taxes and others, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as Law Director for the City, Brian T. Corrigan attended hundreds of <br />meetings, bringing to the table his trademark civility, countering abrasiveness by smoothing things <br />over, responding to all with respect no matter how contentious the encounter, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, throughout his entire tenure as a Lakewood City employee, Brian T. <br />Corrigan never allowed his job to erode his kindness, curtail his concern for others, or prevent him <br />ITom playing the perfect prank on an unsuspecting co-worker; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That this Council extends to Brian T. Corrigan, its appreciation and the <br />appreciation of all of the citizens of this community for his years of distinguished public service as <br />Law Director ofthe City of Lakewood and further wish him years of health, happiness, success, and <br />clear sailing...clear of roving booms. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a certified copy of this resolution to Brian T.
