<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />8242-08 <br /> <br />BY: Antll1ÍlIÍl9,Bullock, Butler, Dever, <br />Madigan, Powers, Summers. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Anthony Beno for his public service as Public <br />Works Director of the City of Lake wood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Anthony Beno was appointed Director of Public Works of the City <br />of Lakewood in 2004, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Anthony Beno started work in the City in 1977 at the Refuse <br />Department working his way to Public Works Director by way of Foreman, Unit <br />Manager in Building Maintenance, Operations Manager in Parks, Division Manager in <br />Public Works, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during his tenure as Public Works Director, Anthony Beno ably and <br />adeptly applied his many years of experience and acute understanding of Lakewood's complex <br />inrrastructure to oversee one ofLakewood's most expansive building booms, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Anthony Beno's tasks swung daily rrom great to small, whether it <br />meant dispensing directives during a waterline break or dispensing paper towels in Lakewood <br />Park, he approached each with equal vigilance, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, when his position called for him to attend various and countless <br />formal meetings with business executives, government officials, attorneys and other big shots, <br />Anthony Beno held to his signature no-nonsense, down-to-earth style which endeared him to the <br />employees he supervised, because he never forgot where he came rrom, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Anthony Beno cannot be separated from his proud, Slovak heritage, <br />which has been reflected in his many years of hard work in the City of Lakewood and is also <br />represented in his love for family and friends and his loyalty to Lakewood; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That this Council extends to Tony Beno, its appreciation and the <br />appreciation of all of the citizens of this community for his years of distinguished public service <br />as Director of Public Works of the City of Lakewood and further wish him years of success, <br />health and happiness. <br /> <br />Section 2.
