RESOLUTION NO. 8249-08 gY; Antonio, Bullock, Dever, <br />Madigan, Powers, Summers. <br />A RESOLUTION proclaiming March 31, 2008 through April 4th as "Severe <br />Weather Awareness Week". <br />WHEREAS, each year brings the potential for violent weather to Ohio; <br />WHEREAS, large portions of our state, including Lakewood, can be devastated by <br />flooding, tornadoes, hail, wind and ice storms, and other emergencies; and <br />WHERFr4S, Community awareness and planning for such threats as tornadoes <br />and/or flooding can result in saving of lives and prevention of injury, particularly among <br />special populations such as schools, day cares, nursing homes and health care facilities. <br />Now Therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br />Section 1. That the City of Lakewood proclaims March 31, 2008 through April <br />4th as "Severe Weather Awareness Week". <br />Section 2. that Lakewood's Outdoor Early Warning Siren will sound at 9:50 a.m., <br />on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008, and that such exercise specifically is designed for local <br />municipal participation and for testing of the Emergency Alert System and other <br />appropriate components of emergency management; <br />Section3. That the Lakewood Division of Fire will observe tornado drills on April <br />2nd, 2008 in as many schools as possible <br />Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this council, and that all. such deliberations of this Council and any of its <br />
