RESOLUTION NO. 8264-08 <br />BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Dever, <br />Madigan, Powera,"Summers. <br />A RESOLUTION to affirm the continued support of the members of the United States Armed <br />Forces of the past and present. <br />WHEREAS, the city of Lakewood has proudly supported our men and women in the military <br />who have and are serving here and abroad; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has a rich tradition of seeing our men and women off to serve <br />in the Armed Forces that will fight for the very freedoms we possess; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood wishes through this resolution to pay respect and tribute to <br />those who protect and defend the rights that we enjoy; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood goes on record denouncing any attempt by individuals or <br />organizations to attempt to dishonor, degrade or discredit any individual charged with defending the <br />United States of America; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood being a diverse and multicultural community welcomes these <br />uniformed members of our Armed Forces to live and work here when honorably discharged; and <br />WHEREAS, we proudly honor and respect the men and women of our Armed Forces of the <br />United States of America around the world, and especially those who serve on active duty in the <br />recruiting offices here in Lakewood from the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard. <br />Now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Lakewood, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Mayor and the Council of the City of Lakewood hereby affirm. their <br />continued support of individuals who have served and are currently serving in the United States Armed <br />Forces. <br />Section 2.
