RESOLUTION NO. 8268-08 B1,, Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Dever, Madigan, Powers, Summers. A RESOLUTION to congratulate Jim O'Bryan on being named 2008 Business Person of the Year by the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. WHEREAS, The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce has recognized an outstanding member of the business community far each of the past 21 years through the award of Business Person of the Yeaz, and WHEREAS, Nominees are business people who work to better the community of Lakewood by contributing time and effort in civic, recreational, school and/or church activities, and WHEREAS, Jim O'Bryan has demonstrated generosity and civic support through the participation, sponsorship and promotion of hundreds of civic events, Lakewood businesses and fellow Lakewood entrepreneurs, and WHEREAS, running contrary to all logic, laws of physics, dollars in the bank account and hours in the day, Jim founded and publishes the Lakewood Observer every two weeks now in operation for more than four years, and WHEREAS, The only thing Jim likes more than giving full expression to his own views, is giving others the opportunity and venue to express theirs, even when they run counter to his own, and WHEREAS, Jim O'Bryan shuns convention in business with his profound appreciation for irony and reverence For authenticity, earning him admiration from business associates who most aften czll him friend, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO:. Section 1 That this Council and Mayor wish to commend Jim O'Bryan for being named Business Person of the Year. Section 2. That's this Council and Mayor further wish Obie and the person most responsible for his greatest joy; his wife Debra, to a future filled with health, happiness and prosperity.. Section 3: That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and duetted to forward a copy this Resolution to Jim O'Bryan whose street cred spans from Highland Avenue to Hafermalz. Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
