RESOLUTION NO. 8295-08 <br />BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Dever, <br />Madigan, Powers, Summers. <br />A RESOLUTION commending Mr. Billy Butler for fostering, organizing and promoting <br />exemplary citizenship in the City of Lakewood. <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Billy Butler, age 9, decided that he could contribute to the lives of <br />children who are less fortunate than he through a little ingenuity and a lot of hard work; <br />WHEREAS, Billy Butler partnered with his mom Sue and the organizers of the <br />Lakewood Festival at Madison Park to raffle Webkinz collectables for a price and donate <br />the profits to The Make A Wish Foundation; <br />WHEREAS, Billy Butler has raised approximately one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) <br />over three years in innovative ventures including a lemonade stand, neighborhood <br />Christmas caroling, the raffle and charitable donations in lieu of birthday presents; <br />WHEREAS Billy Butler started his own website, kidshelpearth.com, dedicated to raise <br />awareness of the imperative that we recycle and protect the earth; <br />WHEREAS Billy Butler through his enthusiasm, business savvy and selflessness raises <br />Lakewood's standard for citizen action and community spirit; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor commend Billy Butler who profoundly <br />advances the ideals of compassion and humanity in the City of Lakewood and beyond. <br />Section 2.
