RESOLUTION N0. 8299-08 gy; Antonio, Bullock, Butler, <br />Dever, Madigan, Powers, Summers. <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and <br />be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Director of the <br />Department of Human Services, on behalf of the City, to accept and expend funds <br />received from the West Side Community House in the amount of $1800.00 for the <br />Neighbor-to-Neighbor "Neighborhood Coaches". <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services, Division of Youth under the <br />Family to Family System of Care grant with the Cuyahoga County Department of <br />Children and Family Services is a member of the Family to Family Administrator's <br />Council; and <br />WHEREAS, The Family to Family Administrator's Council received a grant from <br />the Saint Luke's foundation to support parent-to-parent/neighbor-to-neighbor <br />mentoring allowing for each Family to Family Neighborhood Collaborative to receive 1-2 <br />"Neighborhood Coaches" to serve as volunteers mentoring and supporting other <br />parents in an effort to decrease the over-reliance on public assistance; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood Family to Family Collaborative received $1800.00 for <br />support of two "Neighborhood Coaches" for the period expiring November 30, 2008; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected <br />thereto determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this <br />resolution shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, <br />SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF <br />LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public <br />property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal <br />departments in that this resolution is necessary to accept funds for this program. Now <br />Therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br />Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Human Services is hereby <br />authorized, on behalf of the City, to accept and expend funds in the amount of <br />$1800.00 as provided by the West Side Community House on behalf of the Family to <br />Family Administrator's Council. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were passed in an open <br />
