RESOLUTION NO. 8_66-09 BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Dever, <br />Madigan, Powers, Summers <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and <br />be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Director of Finance <br />to accept, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, a donation from the Lakewood Kiwanis of <br />two thousand five hundred thirty dollars ($2,530) to fund the purchase of a sound <br />board and travel case to allow the City of Lakewood to continue having this equipment <br />available for public events. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is without adequate equipment for use at public <br />events; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has been forced to rent a sound board for use <br />at public events; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood Kiwanis has generously agreed to donate two thousand <br />five hundred thirty dollars ($2,530) for purchase of a sound board and travel case; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS SO and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that funds to <br />purchase a new sound board should be made available immediately to prevent the <br />expenditure of additional funds on rental fees. Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to accept, on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood, a donation from the Lakewood Kiwanis of two thousand <br />five hundred thirty dollars ($2,530) to fund the purchase. of a sound board and travel <br />case for use at public events. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open <br />
