Resolution No: $420-io By: Antonio, Bullock; Butler, Madigan, <br />- Powers, Smith, Summers. <br />A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor, as Director of Rublic Safety , to proclaim May 24-28, <br />2010 as Emergency Medical Services Week. <br />WHEREAS; the emergency medical services system consists of emergency physicians, <br />nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, firefighters, educators, administrators and <br />others; and <br />WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams engage in thousands of hours <br />of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills; and <br />WHEREAS, this year's theme, "EMS: Anytime. Anywhere. We'll be there." exemplifies the <br />services provided every day,,under any circumstances, by the EMS providers who serve this <br />community; and <br />WHEREAS, there can be a high demand for emergency medical services do holidays, and <br />blood supply can run dangerously low; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood Fire Department is joining with the American Red Cross to hold a <br />blood drive at Station #1 oh Friday, May 28, 2010 from 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, as an .opportunity to <br />recognize the importance of the emergency medical personnel in Lakewood, and to give the <br />community a chance to help save lives; and <br />WHEREAS, it is important to recognize the value of the professional men and women who <br />often protect our population by designating Emergency Medical Services Week. Now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor declare May 24-28, 2010 as Emergency Medical <br />Services Week in the City of Lakewood. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a <br />copy this Resolution to: Chief Lawrence E. Mroz, Fire Station No. 1, 14601. Madison Avenue, <br />Lakewood, Ohio and a that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and <br />relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that <br />
