Antonioy Bullock, Butler, Madigan, <br />Powers, Smith, Summers. <br />A RESOLUTION naming Wilbert E Knittel Poet Laureate of the City of <br />Lakewood for 2010-2011. <br />WHEREAS, in all great and respected cultures-from Greece to Rome, <br />from Spain to Egypt-a place of high honor was held for those who possessed the gift to <br />lift us from our the drudgery and difficulties of everyday life, and <br />WHEREAS, in our own great community of Lakewood we have many <br />creative men and women who enable us to transcend the commonplace, who take us to <br />new levels of imagination, and <br />WHEREAS, among our Lakewood citizenry, a benediction of artists, <br />writers, troubadours jugglers, dancers, painters, sculptors, and architects have given us <br />unique ways of looking at the world and ourselves, and <br />WHEREAS, we have discovered among all of this talent a Lakewood <br />wordsmith who, through his gift of rhyme and metaphor, imagery and craft, couplets and <br />meter, has honored our veterans,. elevated our patriotism, praised our civil servants, <br />entertained city employees; now; therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor hereby name Wilbert F. Knittel <br />Poet Laureate of Lakewood, Ohio; 2010-201 L <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to Wilbert F.
