RESOLUTION NO. 8486-11 BY: Bullock, Butler, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION honoring Nickie J. Antonio for her dedicated. service to the citizens of <br />Lakewood, Ohio. <br />WHEREAS, Nickie J. Antonio was elected to the At-Large seat for Lakewood City <br />Council in November of 2005, serving ably and with distinction in that capacity until her <br />resignation becember 31, 2010 to assume the office of State Representative ,and <br />WHEREAS, she brought to City Council principles and beliefs that were reflected in <br />each of her Council endeavors from sponsoring environmental legislation to providing for laws <br />of inclusiveness that recognized people of diverse backgrounds and life experiences, and <br />WHEREAS, Nickie J. Antonio is a person who speaks her mind without vitriol, achieves <br />her goals without being overbearing and shows genuine appreciation for the problems facing the <br />City's residents, and <br />WHEREAS, during her tenure as a Councilmember At-Large, Nickie J. Antonio chaired <br />Council's Housing Committee, Health & Human Services Committee, and Environmental <br />Committee; also serving ably and with distinction on Council's Health & Human Services and <br />Public Works Committee, and. <br />WHEREAS, Nickie J. Antonio's love of Lakewood and her sincere desire to serve the <br />public to the best of her- ability have distinguished her as a truly concerned and responsible <br />citizen, as well as an active and devoted public servant; now; therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section L That in adopting this Resolution this Council commends Nickie J. Antonio for <br />her exemplary work as a member of Lakewood City Council and, further wishes her years of <br />health, happiness prosperity, continuing to share her life with her partner, Jean Kosmac and their <br />children Ariel and Stacey. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and he is hereby authorized and directed to <br />transmit this resolution to Nickie J.
