RESOLUTIONNO.:84~~-11 By. Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Retired Fire Captain James D. Phelan for his <br />public service as a member of the City's Division of Fire. <br />WHEREAS, upon his retirement effective May 8, 2011, Captain James D. <br />Phelan has completed more than 32 years of public service with the Division of <br />Fire, City of Lakewood; and <br />WHEREAS, Firefighter Phelan rose to the rank of Captain in 1993 and served in <br />that capacity for 18 years; and <br />WHEREAS, during his tenure, Captain Phelan has been a loyal and dedicated <br />employee who rendered outstanding service; and <br />WHEREAS, Captain Phelan was very conscientious and went out of his way to <br />be courteous not only to the members of the Department of Public Safety but to <br />the entire community; and <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the public service rendered by Captain <br />Phelan be given public recognition; now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor hereby extend to Captain Phelan their <br />appreciation for his 32 years of public service to the City of Lakewood and, <br />further, wish him continued years of health, happiness, and prosperity in his <br />retirement. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a certified copy of this Resolution to James D.
