Deferred 9/19/11 RESOLUTION NO. 8519-11 BY,~ Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, Nowlifi, Powers, Smith. A RESOLUTION acknowledging the businesses who donated significant time, goods or services to Lakewood's Fallen Firefighter Memorial and ceremony. WHEREAS, the Lakewood Fire Department unveiled a new Fallen Firefighter Memorial on September 11, 2011, at Fire Station #1, 14601 Madison Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Memorial was created with steel beams from the World Trade Center to honor the firefighters who gave the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001, and those members of the Lakewood Fire Department who lost their lives in the line of duty over the years; and WHEREAS, the Lakewood community of businesses and residents came together on September 1 I, 2011, to remember the dedicated members of the safety forces who put their lives on the line every day to protect life and property; and WHEREAS, multiple businesses donated time, goods or services totaling $500 or more toward the monument or ceremony and deserve special recognition for their support of the Lakewood Fire Department. Now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1 That this Council and Mayor acknowledge the following named businesses for their significant donation to Lakewood's Fallen Firefighter Memorial and ceremony held on September 11, 2011: Tighes Insurance Agency * Gene Dingess Trucking * NYNJ Port Authority * Design Surfaces ADA Architects Inc. * West Side Auto Paint * Hungry Howie's Pizza * Donato's Pizza Caribou Coffee Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to Chief Scott K. Gilman, Fire Station No. 1, T4601 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio and each of the businesses mentioned, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Coanci] concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
