RESOLUTION NO. ` <br />8536-11 <br />BY: Anderson, Bullock, Suris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION to support the Lakewood City Schools in its efforts under this grant to <br />be a national leader in sexual assault and teen dating violence education and prevention. <br />WHEREAS, Lakewood City Schools has received a three year grant totaling $511,832 <br />from the Deparhnent of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood, Cleveland Rape Crisis Center and the Domestic <br />Violence & Child Advocacy Center are named partners in the grant; and <br />WHEREAS, this grant will provide for a comprehensive prevention, awareness and <br />training program on sexual assault, domestic violence, teen dating violence or that youth age 16- <br />24 are at the most risk of domestic violence of any age group; and <br />WHEREAS, the safety of our community's youth is of paramount importance. Now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That the City of Lakewood hereby expresses its support of the Lakewood <br />City Schools in its efforts under this grant to be a national leader in sexual assault and teen dating <br />violence education and prevention. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted <br />in such formal actions were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br />Adopted: Y~~"~''^-~ Z 1 ~ 20 (~ <br />Approved: ~ ~ ?'O~ <br />President <br />Clerk <br />i_~ <br />ayor <br />
