REFERRED TO THE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE <br />12/5/11. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8538-11 BY: Andreson, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it received the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force <br />after the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Mayor or his designee to enter <br />into an agreement with Cuyahoga County to accept funds in an amount estimated at <br />$37,000 and to enter into an agreement with a service provider to implement an interface <br />between the Division of Police's report management system and the Cuyahoga Regional <br />Information System (CRIS) for the efficient transfer of information between the systems. <br />WHEREAS, currently records clerks in the Division of Police must enter data <br />separately into the report management system and CRIS to keep both systems updated; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, an interface between CRIS and the Division of Police's software will <br />require the entry of data only once making the process more efficient; and <br />WHEREAS, the County will benefit from the interface as it will allow the Divi- <br />sion of Police to continue to enter data into CRIS without the additional steps now re- <br />quired; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) of its members determines <br />that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall take effect at <br />the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SEC- <br />OND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide <br />for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that this interface should be <br />completed as soon as possible to alleviate the additional work required to update both <br />systems . Now Therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. The Mayor, or his designee, for and on behalf of the City of Lake- <br />wood, be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Cuyahoga <br />County to accept funds in an amount estimated at $37,000 to implement an interface be- <br />tween the Division of Police's report management system and the Cuyahoga Regional <br />Information System (CRIS). <br />Section 2.
