RESOLUTION NO. 8541-11 BY: Anderson, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Carol Rothgery for her more than 30 years of outstanding and <br />dedicated service to the City of Lakewood on the occasion of her retirement from the Division of <br />Refuse and Recycling effective December 31, 2011. <br />WHEREAS, Carol Rothgery started her career as a clerk typist with the City of Lakewood in <br />1981, was promoted to Unit Manager in the Division of Refuse in 1992 and became Division <br />Manager in 2009, and <br />WHEREAS, dedicated, responsive, professional, unassuming, and effective are just some of <br />the attributes that exemplify Carol's more than 30 years of service with the City, and <br />WHEREAS, Carol Rothgery ably and resolutely led her Division through an extensive <br />workforce reduction which she relates as her most profound and heartbreaking challenge while still <br />mastering the complexities of automated refuse pick up, the intricacies of mandatory recycling, the <br />accommodation of Lakewood's construction boom and the navigation of ever changing efficiencies <br />in waste management, and <br />WHEREAS, Carol Rothgery routinely deflects credit for these remazkable accomplishments <br />from herself to the men and women of the Division of Refuse and Recycling she fervently describes <br />as individuals highly motivated, committed, hard-working, innovative and inspired, and <br />WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that Carol Rothgery be given public cognizance and <br />recognition for her more than 30 years of dedicated service to the City of Lakewood; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1 That this Council and Mayor hereby recognize and commend Carol Rothgery for <br />her outstanding dedication to the City of Lakewood and that of all of the citizens of this community. <br />Section 2. That this Council and Mayor further wish Carol continued years of health, <br />happiness and a bon voyage as she cruises into retirement. <br />Section 3, That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to forward this <br />Resolution to Mrs. Carol Rothgery and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of <br />the meeting <br />Adopted: /Je~.cc~~3~-- f ~1, 2v t / <br />Approved: 2// Q~ h <br />107 <br />
